Home for the week ? Post pictures!

Well I kinda figured that I was going to end up with an involuntary week off from work. The boss had nothing that fit into my schedule for the week, and the weather was closing in, so I ended up taking some paid time off and staying home this week. I have my physical on Friday and that is all I have going on now for the rest of the week.

Today was a nice day. After I took care of the office and all that, I decided to go out for a while. I went to visit a good friend who is down on his luck. He lost his job, got sick, a beloved pet passed away on Valentines day, and is generally in a funk. I was happy to go visit and try to cheer him up for a while. I have several friends that are not in the best of places right now, but that will change. Nothing in this world stays constant, and like all things, these too, shall pass

Now on to the show. As a response to my friend Mal, I thought I would post some pictures of our critters here at the house. First we have my little squirrel who comes every day to eat. He is so tame and sweet.

Next are my Turkeys. These fellas come twice a day and eat the seed out front on a tight schedule. We have a group of about 50 of them that hang close to the house most of the time. They are creepy and at the same time quite fun to watch. They are getting more tame by the day. In the background is my Jeep. They keep a close eye on that. It looks threatening to them.

Next are the deer. We have quite the herd here since there is no hunting allowed anywhere near my house. We love watching them. They come to eat my cedar trees and the remnants of the seed we put out of the birds.

And finally for today, the possum. Mal, we don't have adorable possums here, we have rat looking possums. These guys are not nice, and they are not something to mess with. They have huge teeth and claws. I have seen the damage these fellas can do, and it isn't pretty. This is a Flickr pic, since I won't get close enough to one of ours to take its picture. Ours look less cute than this fella here. I still love em though.

So there you go. I will be messing about with a photo blog later in the week to make the whole picture thing more interesting. For now, I am going to go chase after the Mrs, who just walked by wearing pretty much nothing and grinning at me from ear to ear while she did it.

Later!

Paid time off at home isn't too much to sneer at, when you can be surrounded by your family! wOOt! Hanging by the fireplace when there's snow everywhere sounds like the better option ;)

You sound like a good friend, hanging out with someone who needs a reassuring pair of ears. Good on ya.

You have wild animals all around the place! Great pics! Turkeys? Waaaaay up north they have wild bush turkeys, but they look nothing like those things! we don;t have those here at all.

The deer look cute... brittle, fragile and scatty, but cute.

Those possums look like... yuck! Now I see what you mean! At least ours look cute and cuddly... but yeah, they have the same razor-sharp claws and teeth behind the adorableness.

I haven't seen hide nor hair of our resident possum tonight either, thankfully.

Thanks again for your posts.

When do we get to see a pic of you?

Oh Caroline, you don't really want to see a picture of me do you?? I'm nothing to look at, trust me.

I will be putting up a picture blog and linking over to it over the rest of the week, so no worries. I am sure there will be a pic or two of me in there along with the Mrs. and the little one.
