Catherine's B-day.
Wow, it is nice to have a really nice weekend with no real stress. We had my daughter's birthday this weekend. She is now 11, one year closer to a teen. *ug* She had a really nice time this weekend. She had a friend over Friday night into Saturday for a sleepover. She stayed up really late but was quiet, so that was fine.
We had my brother and his wife up for her party Sunday. We sat around and caught up for a while. I showed him all the guitar work I had done. He was impressed. I also traded him 81.00 in change for 150.00 in paper cash. Sounds like a deal eh? Not really. He is going to deposit it into the bank, and I am taking the 150 and going to buy my father a violin that he really wants as a surprise from both of us. I saved the money on the sly so that no one knows about the purchase and there is no trace on the books in the house. Dad won't find out about it until we give it to him. I hope that will be next weekend. Pictures will be part of that weekends post for sure~~~!!!
I had an otherwise uneventful weekend. We worked on getting our new cat used to the rest of the cats in the house. The big man - Ash, he is our elder cat, is fine with her. He is the boss and knows it, he is firm, but fair with our little kitty. Our other rescue cat - Oak, well he is emotional and has not been getting along with our newest addition, Willow:
Yes that's right. Our cats are named Ash, Oak, and Willow. We had Thorn, so it was Oak, Ash, and Thorn, but alas, Thorn died after a long battle with illness. He passed peacefully at 11 years old. His brother Ash is still beside himself with grief, but Willow is helping make things better slowly. Willow has had a rough time. She is under size, only 8 months old, had a tapeworm and worms in general until she was treated and is healthy now. She was found half frozen in a snowbank, and to top it all off, she had an early pregnancy that would have resulted in her death as well as the death of the kittens. She had surgery to fix that, and to prevent further pregnancies. She barely made it. She is healthy now, and for the first time in her life, has a home, and is happy.
So all in all it was a great weekend. My brother and I jammed for a while, made some nice music. The next time we get together we are going to just play with no other distractions and try to get some recording done. I am hoping to have some nice demos to play for people by early April. Maybe Dad will want to join in with his fiddle? Who knows?
Work tomorrow. Short week again as I am supposed to have a physical on Friday morning. This will be the second time I have tried to make this appointment. Let's hope the boss doesn't mess with me again on that.
Later~!

Sounds like a brilliant memory-making weekend as a family. That's great! Hope your beloved animals really begin to feel more comfortable with each other really soon too.
A violin? sounds brilliant... he'll get a real pleasant surprise with that, by the sounds of it. Glad you can do things like that for your dad. Go for it.
